Research Projects

The main aim of the Research Group Studies on Aging and Neurodegenerative Diseases, directed by Professor Soledad Ballesteros, is to understand the main changes that occur with age in a number of vital psychological processes such as executive control, speed of processing, attention and memory (implicit and explicit) and how the human brain changes in order to adapt to the effects of aging. A primary aim of our research is to find out ways to promote healthy aging and avoid cognitive decline and pathological aging. Our research group is working in several projects to achieve theses aims.
